Sunday Scoop!

Happy to join up with Teaching Trio and post my Sunday Scoop. There is so much going on at my house. This is the first time I've sat at the computer for an extended amount of time since I left work on Friday. It's a relief, but it means no work has been done all weekend. Thank you, Teaching Trio, for getting me back in the right mind set but also giving me a fun task to help me procrastinate !  =)

Here is mine. My in-laws are visiting us in Atlanta from Wisconsin. I claim they brought the cold with them. The first morning they woke up here, our temperature was 10 degrees. They chuckled when schools in surrounding counties were delayed for 2 hours. We were not so lucky. My husband and I have kept them entertained ok. I wish my we were more fun. Honestly, we've just sat around the house, talking and finding my happy-to-comply father-in-law new projects in the house. We are currently remodeling our laundry room. I can't wait until it's more functional and more gorgeous! Other than that, Sundays stink for me, in general. I will be tossing and turning and waking up all through the night like I do every Sunday night, even after 3 years of teaching. Tomorrow is a big day for me, though, so maybe I won't sleep at all! I'm one of 18 teachers in our district chosen to survey and now discuss the district's success or lack thereof of PDs that are provided to us. I have no idea what tomorrow will entail. Wish me luck. Because of this, I'd rather focus on dinner. I can always relax and feel happier when it comes time to think about food!

Thanks for reading! I hope everyone has a fantastic week!

  1. Having in-laws over, stress about tomorrow, and remodeling project in progress is a lot to handle at once! Your laundry room will be gorgeous! You may need to take some sort of sleeping aid tonight! You don't want to start your day with anxiety and exhaustion! Good luck tomorrow!

    1. I am a huge fan of melatonin, but didn't need it luckily. I have a belly full of Papasito's and it put me straight to bed. Thanks for stopping by!

  2. I definitely can relate to not being able to fall asleep on Sunday night! I wish our school would survey us about staff development....I'm sure that a lot of people would have something to say!

    Have a good week!

  3. You're lucky to have your in-laws visiting and a helpful father-in-law. My in-laws are awesome, too, and I always know I can count on his help on our projects. Good luck on your remodel!

    1. I'm very excited! I consider myself very lucky. I hear nightmare in-law stories. I'm an only child of an Asian mom. My husband didn't get away quite as lucky as I did, but it's only because my mom adores me. Haha! Too much so.

  4. I hope you are able to get some sleep tonight...I never can when it comes to new responsibilities that I am not sure what they entail the night before. I can't wait to see pictures of your newly remodeled laundry room. We did ours not too long ago, and it makes doing laundry just a little bit better when it is they way you want it.

    1. So it did make laundry easier? That's totally what I'm counting on. Maybe my in-law will sneak a laundry elf into the nook for us. =) Thanks for the note.

  5. I blame Netflix for my lack of sleep lately. When I find a new series to watch I have no control and stay up later than I should.

Sorry you are getting the cold weather also. We were delayed several days last week because of negative wind chills. I dearly miss summer.

I'm glad you are able to enjoy and visit with your in-laws. Have fun with your remodel.

    1. Tracy,
What was the last good series you watched? I loved Salem, but I claimed it was to help discuss The Witch of Blackbird Pond, but really that dark stuff is right up my alley. It's so embarrassing to complain about weather in a larger arena. It's always easier to complain with local people. I just couldn't survive in several days of negative weather. Wind chill or not. Yikes!!
